2020 Fashion Design

Those abandoned and long-forgotten sooner or later will reappear and become the societal ‘problem’. My sustainable project, inspired by the circulation behind this process, is divided into two paths and either of which shows my attempt to connect materials to a bigger story.

Based on the excessive packaging waste, I see clothing as a kind of packaging for human. Thus I create packageable garment using ancient resilient textiles like Ramie, and translate the fading skills like Gambiered Guangdong dyeing into a modern way that welcomes domestic kitchen waste and river mud. The garment constructions inspired by traditional dresses and their zero-waste pattern cuttings also refer to the package template.
